A Connected
and Sustainable Community
Our development will be a neighbourhood that is connected to the wider community.
Within the site there is a focus on creating green open space as well as pedestrian connections, with enhanced footpath links. Sustainable transport choices will be encouraged, given the proximity to local amenities and bus routes, cycle storage facilities will be provided.

Our new homes will be well insulated, energy efficient and water conscious. As a minimum, they will meet the latest building regulations requirements for reduced carbon and be delivered to at least EPC-B rating, benefiting the environment and our customers. This will be achieved via the installation of sustainable energy features such as air source heat pumps and photovoltaic solar panels.

In partnership with the Wildlife Trusts, Orbit has developed a ‘30by30’ strategy which commits that 30% of our outdoor spaces will be enabling nature’s recovery by 2030. This aligns with the goal of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the Wildlife Trusts’ 30 by 30 campaign.

We have created a Zero Waste Group that has developed and begun implementation of a range of waste management initiatives to support our reduction target of 15% per direct build plot by 2030. This includes the ongoing exploration of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) products which will facilitate the reduction of waste on-site as materials are used far more efficiently in factory settings than on a construction site.
